BeeFound is a completely new way of connecting Locums with Practices, and one that we hope you will soon realise the many benefits of.
BeeFound enables GP and Nurse Locums to keep their actual daily availability online. Practices can then search BeeFound for the days and sessions for which they require GP or Nurse locums.
BeeFound uses a specially developed algorithm to search all registered locums with the dates and regions, and practices they have made themselves available to. BeeFound then finds the best matched locum or locums to fill all of the searching practices requirements.
Practices can then book the locums, and the locums are notified of the booking instantly via SMS text message and email.

GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and Enrolled Nurses who are eligible to practice in New Zealand can use this service. We validate your credentials within the GP and Nurse registrations. It is the Practice’s responsibility to undertake due diligence in the checking of any documents that you upload to the BeeFound site.
Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are highly skilled, Master’s educated clinicians. Registered in a different scope of practice to that of a registered nurse.
NPs combine their advanced nursing knowledge and skills with diagnostic reasoning, therapeutic and prescribing knowledge. They provide care for people across all age ranges, with acute, chronic, and complex conditions.
Many NPs work in primary care where, like general practitioners, they are lead health care providers for health consumers and their families/whanau. NPs work across the whole range of service delivery, including rural areas and underserved communities. Some own their own practices.
The College of Nurses has been pivotal in the development of the NPs role since the scope was regulated in New Zealand.
The College of Nurses Aotearoa (NZ) is a professional organisation of New Zealand Nurses. We aim for excellence in nursing practice and health care delivery by supporting nurses in their ongoing professional development.
Our membership consists of registered nurses and nurse practitioners form all over New Zealand and across all practice settings. We also provide Professional indemnity insurance.

It is a requirement of the Children’s Act 2014 for all core and non-core healthcare workers to be safety checked prior to employment, this includes police vetting.
As an online platform, BeeFound does not perform safety checking.. It is the responsibility of the employer (i.e. the general practice) to ensure these checks have been carried out.
Locum staff using BeeFound, are able to request and upload current safety checking and police vetting documents (that have been completed by their current or previous healthcare employer or via CV Check) to their BeeFound profile.
When relying on checks undertaken by others, the general practice must ensure the check meets the requirements of the safety checking regulations.
It is not a requirement for locums using BeeFound to upload their safety checking documents, but it is recommended to speed up processes when engaging with a GP team.
